A week after its international launch, Nokia has finally bought the much awaited E72 to India. The high-end ESeries device is considered the successor to the very famous E71, that has a very decent fan following.
The E72 is visually similar to the E71 and boasts of better features as compared with its predecessor. While the resemblance between the two is striking, there have been a lot of changes under the hood. The processor, for example, is a much faster one and will definitely make the E72 way faster than its older cousin. Then, there is the new version if Symbian (Version 9.3, FP2) found doing duty on the phone. The phone also comes pre-installed with Nokia Messaging and a host of Office Productivity Suites.
Also, unlike the E71, this one can be a pretty formidable multimedia phone - thanks to the 5 megapixel camera (with autofocus and Carl Zeiss optics). You can even record videos at VGA resolution. Lastly, a much needed 3.5mm jack too finds its way in. This was a much sought after feature on the E71 - that unfortunately, was not fixable by a mere update. In short, the E72 is almost everything that the E71 fell short of.
The phone has been priced at Rs. 22,989 and is also available on pre-order here.
Hey guys.. I Baugh Nokia E72 for 18000/- This is not a Phone.. It’s a Mobile office. whatever you want you can do it. Can't compare it with Black berry as Black berry requires separate expensive BB link from Mobile service provider but Nokia E72, works on WLAN, GPRS, 3G, and 3.5G. Which come with your Mobile connection, easily available and economical too.
You name the service.. you can do it with E72... Challenging phone for Smart people.
It's infuriating that Nokia has not yet shipped these to stores to sell. I walked to a few shops in Irla (Mumbai) yesterday and all of them, bar none, is selling this phone for 22,500...but without a bill.
As per the dealers, (though Nokia care denies this) the E75 has been discontinued, because at 19,500 with the same features except for the faster processor of the E72, it would be competition for the E72.
I checked out the phone. It's pretty nice. The keypad is deceptively easy to use, the screen size is decent and the speed is fantastic. It ran 5 applications simultaneously really well...
Oh well, it would be a great buy but all the shops said it will only be out officially (with bill) after mid-Dec. It may even go till January!!!
Nokia's loss really, since loads of people are now buying Blackberry instead! Who can wait so long???
Can you guys name one store in India where this is available. Nokia priority still does not have this phone (except the dummy). It will be great to know exact store details like name, address and phone.
Thanks
So...we will wait for review from techtree before buying this long wait phone. Please take care in your review about all minor details because the price is too high at this stage. And also suggest alternatives to this phone in your review.
Remember there are too many people like me who decide to buy or not just based on your review...
