Connect PlayStation Store and Trophy activity feeds to Facebook News Feed
Sony has officially announced that it will bring Facebook integration to PlayStation 3's XMB interface with upcoming PS3 firmware 3.10 update. This update allows linking user's Facebook account to their PlayStation Network account. So, those leaked images of PS3 getting Facebook integration were actually legit.
Following the foot steps of Xbox 360, PS3 will also bring Facebook integration to the console's interface. Eric Lempel, PlayStation Network Operations director, in blog post at official PlayStation Blog, stated that Facebook integration is just the beginning and Sony looks forward to add new features that enhance user experiences in future updates.
PS3 users also get an option to set auto updates of Trophy and PlayStation Store activity to Facebook News Feed. Let's hope that the Trophy and PlayStation Store activity updates don't annoy your fellow Facebook friends and users. For this feature, it's Facebook that'll have to make efforts to provide hiccup free News Feed.
Apart from that, the revamped Photo category will allow easier view of photos stored. Users would be able to choose colors for their PlayStation Network ID on the XMB. Also, the PSN Friends list has been changed.
Expect the new PlayStation 3.10 firmware update later this week.
