Update: The E72 was "launched" by Nokia yesterday and the company had issued a press release for
the same. It hadn't clarified as to when and where the phone was launched and when
exactly will we see its availability in various countries. This is why we
checked for the phone's availability on the Nokia India website where it was
still listed as "Coming Soon" and reported it "as is". There
is nothing contradictory in the article. It says the E72 has been launched
(which it really has been) but the Indian launch has not happened yet.
Nokia has launched the younger sibling of the N97, the N97 Mini, just a few months after the bigger, better endowed Nokia N97 was announced. The E72 boasts of new functionalities such as desktop-like e-mail and chat experiences. The E72 also packs in the latest version of Ovi Maps with A-GPS navigation and compass,
Visually similar to the existing E71, the E72 comes with a higher resolution, 5 megapixel camera while the dimensions remain almost the same. As expected, Nokia's own e-mail service, Nokia Messaging, comes pre-installed with the E72. It also comes with full IM support with multiple communities support. The full QWERTY keypad makes it a worthy business phone and a fast messaging device as well. The E72 comes with a much sought after 3.5mm audio jack which was missing in the E71. The E72 should also be considerably zippier, thanks to its fast 600Mhz processor which is quite an upgrade over the 369Mhz processor that the E71 came with.
Why don't nokia make touch screen E series?? Then it becomes a complete smart phone!!!!! Already I am using E63
a highly affordable smart phone in viviid colours, an excellent phone with great battery life [1500 mAh]
Your headline says Nokia N72 launched and the article mentions that it has still not launched in India. What exactly are you talking about here. You just lifted the specs from a website and posted it here. Let me tell you that most of your readers also follow the websites you lift your text from; so they already know about this. The least you could have done was find out the cost in the grey market or check with your sources in Nokia and give an approximate launch date. Your lack of passion for your work shows in your post!
@ABCDE, thank you for your observations. I have posted a clarification as a reply to another comment. Since I wish to say the same, there's no point in repeating it.
What exactly the word "launched" means? As per Techtree It means "on the way"? Shame... Why so much hurry to publish this article? Publish it only when it "REALLY" gets launched. This is one of the crap article from techtree. Shame as usual...
I wrote this article and time for some clarification, I guess. The word "launched" means what it says. The phone was just "announced" by Nokia earlier in 2009 and its launch was being anticipated worldwide. Yesterday by 17:30, we received a press release announcing the launch of the E72 without any details as to where and at what price has the launched happened. Since, this came from Nokia, we had no qualms in going ahead and reporting it. At the same time, we just checked for any signs of the E72 launch on the Nokia India website because Nkoia had spoken about its policy of an Indian launch coinciding with international launches for many of its devices. The story has been published because the phone REALLY has been launched, just not in India yet which is precisely what we said.
When you write original articles, you are getting praise and appreciation. Ex: redundant features in mobile phones. Try to gather the street price of N97 mini and availability and price of E72 in stores is the information people are looking at to you. Thanks
What you exactly mean by "launched" where was the event? India or any other country? what is price?
Nowdays you are just printing nonsense.
Just fire your staff and get some good people.
copy paste from gsmarena/engadget. most of the news/post are not relevent to india.I request you people to concentrate on this aspect.you people just gathers info from other sites to fill your website.
