Fixes Guest Account bug, axes Hackint0sh support for netbooks
Apple has finally released the Mac OS X 10.6.2 update to fix several bugs including the most disruptive one which deletes user data. The Guest Account bug used to delete user data as the user logged in and out of the same. Apple acknowledged the bug and released the fix in this update. This 473MB update is available via Software update in Mac OS X 10.6.0 or higher and alternatively can be downloaded from the Apple support site.
The new Mac OS X 10.6.2 brings general operating system fixes wherein the major one is the Guest Account login-log off havoc that deleted data. However, Apple has disabled support for Intel Atom processor and thereby crippled hackint0sh on netbooks, reported OSXDaily.
Hence, hackint0sh netbook users who updated their OS X accidentally would be facing reboot loop issues. As presumed, Apple axed hackint0sh support to install Mac OS X Snow Leopard on Third Party
Other fixes in this update include fixes for graphics, Mail, Safari, MobileMe, Printing and Fax, Network file systems, and other generic operating system fixes. More details about the fixes in the Support Article at Apple website.
