It was just last week that Nokia blamed Apple for infringing on its patented technologies and sued Cupertino in a Delaware Court. Apple, who is yet to respond to the lawsuit by Nokia, has in a recent revelation made it clear that they would not be giving up the case, without a fight.

In a report to released to the U.S. SEC (Securities And Exchange Commission), Apple says that it would "vigorously" defend itself in the court once the case will be heard. However, Apple is yet to release an official statement as to how it plans to counter Nokia's lawsuit. Apple could face up to a billion dollar in penalty if it loses the case against Nokia. It would be interesting to see the culmination of this battle, especially during these days of the smartphone OS wars.

While everyone did expect Apple to respond strongly to Nokia's claims, the prolonged silence by Apple did raise some eyebrows. Now that they have at least hinted on the aggressive approach they have adopted, there is no doubt we'd be witnessing a huge battle that might just have substantial implications on the smartphone market as we know it today.
