It is just a day since Android 2.0 has started trickling down for users and we already have reports about the HTC Hero reportedly getting updated to version 2.0 soon.
The statement from HTC reads, "Yes, we are working on an Eclair update for the HTC Hero. Because Eclair is a significantly enhanced release, it will require some time to update Sense for this new version of the Android OS. Please be patient while we work to provide you with a tightly integrated experience like the one you are already enjoying on your Hero."
This can be seen as a confirmation of the imminent arrival of Android 2.0 to the HTC Hero.
It is learnt that HTC has been using Android 2.0 in-house for some time now and would be porting it to its phones in the near future. The Hero might be the first HTC handset to actually get it - thanks to its premium nature. If this happens, it will be the second phone after the Motorola Droid to come with Android 2.0
It would be interesting to see the integration of the Sense UI atop Android 2.0 on the Hero!
