Brings updated Ovi Maps 3.1, Nokia email, Ovi Contacts and Ovi Store
The much talked about version 2.0-firmware update has finally started trickling down towards N97 users starting yesterday. The new firmware update brings with it significant fixes and feature additions for Nokia's flagship Symbian smartphone.
The version number (20.0.019, 20.1.021 and 20.2.019 depending on your product code) brings with it improved scrolling, an updated Ovi Maps 3.1, Nokia email, Ovi Contacts and Ovi Store. The update also claims an improvement in overall memory and battery performance. Image and video stability too has been increased. The update is being currently rolled on to certain product codes in both an OTA form and through the Nokia Software Updater.
Users can install the firmware using Software Update from their device or they can download it using Nokia Software Updater on PCs. More details about the upgrade can be found on Nokia's website.
Pls. advise when this update will be available for N97 model type RM505. I purchased this mobile on 8th Nov, 2009 and tried updating the software (via PC option). But it updated supplied v11.0.0## (do not remember the last two digits, right now) to v12.0.026 only.
