Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program Begins

First batch of Preview Programs invite sent out to participants

The next Xbox LIVE Update program will bring Twitter, Facebook and Zune support to Xbox 360 dashboard. Major Nelson aka Larry Hryb, director of Xbox LIVE programming, Microsoft, announced that the Wave 1 of the Update Program has begun and invites are being sent to first lot of the selected beta testers.

Xbox LIVE Preview Program's registered participants will receive the invite to join the preview program in an email. However, it's likely that Xbox 360 owners would be prompted for a Preview update as soon as they sign-in to their console.

Major Nelson tweeted that "Wave 1" (stage one) of the Preview Program has begun. Those who don't receive invite in a day or two can expect to receive it in later "waves".

Once the invite is received, the respective Xbox 360 owner needs to sign into Connect website to accept the invitation. More details about the Preview program would be available after logging in.

The registration of this Xbox LIVE Preview program is closed. Now, you got to wait till Xbox LIVE team finishes the Preview program and rolls out update. Hopefully, Twitter updates won't be disabled like Sony did for Uncharted 2 on PlayStation 3.

Thats It! Twitter? How About a Internet Browser? Even If It's Explorer 8 The Wii & Playstation Have Internet Browsers? What Kind Of Update Is This? Also Other Updates That You Will Not Like! Mem Card And Hard Drive Shut Downs. Xbox Is slowly dying...

How about try and get a computer and use the internet, the xbox isnt dying, go back to your wii sports fourms and quit writing that garbage here. And for the harddrive mem card thing? im glad they are doing it, it keeps modders off xbox, get a job and just buy the game.....

Well the ps3 web browser is slow and can't handle the pages most of the time. Why would u want a browser on a console anyway? It's made for gaming not browsing the net.

I just downloaded the update. It is sick! Facebook is awesome. It isnt cluttered with weird apps like Farmville. Photos are legit with it tho. Twitter is cool too, but slightly limited. What i really like last.fm. It is 100x better on xbox than online. Zune store is lame. Just another video store like before.

I agree! I got the update on thursday and was impressed. While facebook is better than I expcted, Last FM is really awesome. I don't Tweet and have no intentions on using Zune so not much to say on those.
