God of War






This is arguably one of the most popular console franchises in our country. And the credit for its success should go to the easy to pick-up combat system that is complimented by impressive results on the screen. Apart from some brisk, linear adventuring and occasional quick-time events, God of War largely remains a hack-and-slash game with focus on creating maximum mayhem.


This is one button mashing game with a unique property- it has a typical hardcore macho exterior, but the game play is equally simplistic. God of War has become something of a rite of passage into the console gaming world. PlayStation 3 owners have already earmarked March 2010 since Sony Computer Entertainment has promised the return of everyone's favorite avenger, Kratos, and reportedly concluding the series.

I know you have mentioned only Console games here. But if you EVER considered the mouse as having BUTTONS. then I would say "Diablo 2" is the God of Button Masher! :D

If you call fighting games like Street Fighter, Tekken etc as button mashers, then you don't know how to play them. There are many more advance technics like combo canceling, linking, juggling etc which can't be done by button mashing. If you enter any tournament, you will be nailed by human players, even if you are champion at defeating the game AI.

dude all u have to do is left click in serious sam and he'll shoot.. thats not button smashing.
