The HTC Hero is the second Android phone to arrive in India after its sibling, the HTC Magic. We had recently reviewed the Magic and although the phone was pretty good, the absence of the Android Market did not go unnoticed. The phone also did not have any of the standard range of Google applications, which meant that the high price that it demanded was rather unjustified.
The Hero is here to solve that, and although it is still a premium product it has full Android Market access along with all the Google applications, and many more features and improvements, including HTC's Sense UI. We set out to find how much of an improvement the new Hero is over the Magic.
Bundle
The presence of just 2GB memory in the bundle of such a premium handset is preposterous. In comparison the Nokia N97 has a massive 32GB of space built-in and even the Apple iPhone 3G has a respectable 8 GB. HTC should know better than this and should refrain from cutting corners in this manner, especially when faced against such formidable rivals and at this price point. In these days of spec sheet comparisons even a small difference can cause a prospective buyer to change his mind.
