For the memory, G.Skill, Corsair and OCZ all have their 2GB memory kits priced very competitively around Rs. 2,200. The G.Skill comes with good CAS timings of CL 4-4-3-5 and is priced at 2.3K. This component, like the rest, can vary dramatically in pricing depending on where you purchase it from and also when, since there's no telling when the price will drop or rise. The things to look out for when purchasing memory is the speed, don't settle for anything lower than 800MHz.

For our build, 2GB is still the sensible option, especially if you're on XP or 7.
