Earlier we reviewed the first 785G chipset from ECS and now its Gigabytes turn. Today we have with us the GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H (quite a mouthful I know), which is full blown version of the DD3 785G line up. The most striking difference about this one is that it supports 128MB DDR3 SidePort memory, which is dedicated for the on board HD4200 graphics chip. This not only gives the IGP quicker access to the memory, but also frees up system memory. Apart from that you get Gigabytes usual fare of solid state capacitors, UltraDurable 3 with 2oz of copper and a couple of power saving applications like Easy Energy Saver and Easy Tune 6.
As far as primary specifications go, they are pretty much identical to the ECS. And since they are both based on the same chipset, the performance shouldn't be all that different. There could be a slight bump in the on-board graphics department because of Side-Port, but again it remains to be seen how much of a bump do you really get.
