Steve Jobs named the company Apple to come first before "Atari" in alphabetic order.... marketing feat. Read iCON book about Steve jobs, you will come to know moron.

open google and search "techtree how tech companies got their names" and you will see that there are actually two links for this article. one article has your earlier comment. very strange that this article exists with the same content at two different locations, but in different formats

Atari was the well established when Steve started the company. So, Jobs named his company Apple to be in first place of the address books of customers (Apple comes first before Atari in alphabetical order).
