You can give this a miss

Build quality, display quality, decent keypad, audio quality

Bulky design, touchscreen functionality limited to text input, massive stylus, no 3G, poor web browser, poor camera

Design & Construction

The Nokia 6208 Classic has a simple candy bar design. On the front side most of the space is dominated by the 2.4" touchscreen display. Below the display are the navigation keys and the alphanumeric keypad. The microphone of the phone has been placed between the gaps in the keypad, below the number '6' key. Above the display is the earpiece. The display and the navigation keys are covered by glossy plastic and hence attract a lot of fingerprints and oil from the skin.

The right side has the microUSB port at the top, volume keys, the camera shutter key and the microSD card slot. The camera shutter key has been oddly placed near the centre of the phone, not the most comfortable position when you turn the phone around for taking pictures. The right side is completely barren.

On the top side of the phone is the power key, which also doubles as the shortcut key to quickly change profiles, the 3.5mm headphone jack and a charger port. The phone does not support charging over USB.

On the rear side is the enormous stylus, perhaps the biggest on any device, and looks more like a combination of a dart and a bottle opener fused into one. Since the stylus is so large, it cannot be put away in a slot as in other phones. So Nokia has made a bracket on the back cover in which only some part of the stylus goes in, the rest hangs on top of the camera lens. The stylus, however, is just too big and isn't exactly comfortable to hold either. The cradle to hold the stylus isn't the most secure and at times the stylus just comes out without warning. The stylus sticking out of the back also makes the phone wobbly when kept on a surface; removing the stylus doesn't help and only worsens it.

The build quality of the phone is terrific. The phone feels as solid as a slab of granite. Unfortunately, it also feels as heavy as one, which isn't exactly great for something you need to carry around in your pocket. The phone's sides and back cover are made of solid steel and the oversized metal stylus adds about 10% to the weight of the phone! One word of warning though; the phone's battery, at least in our review sample, was not held tightly in its slot and turning the phone upside down after removing the cover made the battery pop out.

Now and then Nokia launches a quirky phone that is different from the ones you usually see from the manufacturer. Whenever you look at these phones you wonder what was the need for Nokia to make this phone and what were they really thinking when they decided to bring it out. One such phone is the Nokia 6208 Classic.

For 9900 rs u get a Nokia 5320 XM which is also s60 Fp2 smartphone, this useless piece of junk is only capable of sitting in the store shelves, nokia have completely ruined the touch screen experience with the manufacture of this device

u are late in reviewing this item. my bro is using this handset, its a curse in the name of touchscreens. every seller is calling this a touchscreen. this is a last try made by nokia to just give some last breath to dying Series 40 equipped handsets. however it posess some outta this world looks, which makes it a bit attractive in looks. and nothing special in operating and other segments. and touchscreen is really useless, you can type really faster than using the touch feature.

I think Nokia is trying to cater to the ancient and ethnic Indian sentiment. It has attached a feather to the back of the phone and called it "a writing instrument". Are the user manuals printed on dried palm leaves?

Guess its time for Nokia to exit the market! If this is the trend they are switching too, guess they will be out of business REALLY SOON!
