An eagle-eyed Fudzilla reader has managed to capture spy shots of what is arguably the "soon to be released" Radeon HD 5770. The pictures, which incidentally look too clear for a spy-shot (no usual blurry pictures), were allegedly taken in an Australian store - where the Gigabyte-branded card was actually on sale for A$262.90 (approx. Rs. 11,000). The location of the store has been kept under the dark for obvious reasons.
If you have read our recent XFX HD5870 review, you might want to compare the looks of the same to the HD 5770. Both look very similar and this one too has the same arrangement at the rear complete with two DVI ports, an HDMI port and of course, the DisplayPort - which it seems, will be seen on all 5700 series cards. The circuit board is slightly smaller than that of the 5850 - but the angle of the picture makes it difficult for us to guess. The card was identified to be a 5770, thanks to the telltale stickers found on the cooler and on the PCI Express connector.
The card is likely to officially go on sale later this month.
