Superb design and build quality, excellent display quality, brilliant camera performance (in daylight), comfortable keypad, good web browser, GPS with Maps software
No 3.5mm headphone jack, no Wi-Fi, no document reader, keys on the side are difficult to use, accelerometer is under-utilized
The Nokia 6700 Classic is the successor to the popular Nokia 6300. It employs a similar design to its predecessor, including the ultra slim design but managing to pack in a lot more features than before. We find out how much of an improvement the new version is over its predecessor.
Mr Prasad Naik , dont you feel its ur moral duty to update the information especially the price. Do you even know the current price? it has fallen to half of what your article claims. Wake up man, wake up to your responsibilities.
Since when is good audio quality the only criteria to suggest a phone? And the 6700 Classic is not even a music phone for heaven's sake! It's not as if it is a XpressMusic phone and has poor audio quality and yet I'm telling people to buy it. 6700 Classic more than makes up in other areas what it looses in music playback.
i read almost all reviews and .. i came to the conclusion that no phone is worth buying, if it's gud its too expensive..and every phone lacks in some or the other feature ..so we should be buying a nokia 1100 , an ipod and a digicam separately..
I just bought Nokia 6303 classic(black colour) it is good to use, soft keypads.......but its ringing volume is low at maximum which is really disappointing.
When travelling in a train or on busy road if one keeps the phone in bag or pocket I am sure ringing of the phone won't be heard as it is not audible.
The other thing is data cable which is short.
The look of the phone is quite good.
hey 2 questions... 1) i know someone using this phone and they complain a lot about the phone behaving weirdly in while they are having a conversation like it buts them on mute or something did u too face that problem??
2)also when u mention audio quality is not that gr8 is that during calls also on speaker or only during music??
Its the festival season and mobile rates are being slashed.. Can anyone please review the nokia 2700 classic in detail.. I'm interested in buyin the same and would be glad if someone could help.
A few months back newspapers reported that Nokia was launching three phones for the emerging markets (in which India doesn't seem to figure). A very good phone 2730 was one of them. You can see it on Nokia's Malaysian website. The features and looks (like 6700) are quite good. I think they shud consider India as emerging too as far as this mkt is concerned.
Can anybody tell me 1 logical reason why Nokia is supplying such idiotic data cable along with its phones, i know similar cable is sent with e63 also that my dad purchased few days back.
Are they trying to cut on cost by supplying such cables?!! Absolutely ridiculus.
The retailers say that the 'ridiculour' data cable is for use with laptops! Now does everyone in this country having a Nokia phone necessarily owns a laptop!?!
Its a good review and its even better to see you responding to people's comments. Just a little help i m looking for a cell phone <15k, my priorities are good camera, battery life, build quality & value for money.I am considering 6700, n79, c901, and the new SE yari. So wat do you suggest. You being an expert I ll just take ur word and buy wat you suggest
I would suggest the Nokia N79. It has everything that you want and compared to others like the 6700 Classic it is more value for money as it has more features.
i am using this phone (black model) since 2 months. i must say that the phone is an eye catcher. My friends using high end phones envy me just for the look and the feel of this phone. The all metal design really makes the phone stand out. Feature wise i must say it does have everything that i need. The only thing i miss is WiFi.
Highly recommended!?!?!?
YOU MUST BE KIDDING RIGHT??
What about Nokia 5800? (Rs 13.5K)
What about Sony C903? (Rs 16k)
What About Sony W705? (Rs 14K)
What about Samsung Stat wifi? (Rs 13k)
And What about N78 (Rs 15k)
I cant belive this. YOU GUYS ARE SOO BIASED.
The Nokia 6700 Classic is recommended for the particular set of qualities that it has, such as a great design, good display and an excellent camera. It is recommended for those who want a stylish phone but with good features and performance. Obviously I won't recommend it to someone looking for a touchscreen phone. For them there is Nokia 5800 as you pointed out. I am not saying the 6700 Classic is the only phone you should be buying in that range just that for those whose buying criteria meets what the 6700 Classic offers then they should consider this phone over any other.
The Samsung Star has the advantage of a bigger touchscreen display and the resultant UI is also bit easier to navigate. But the 6700 Classic has a superior design and build and the camera is miles ahead.
this reiewer can hold his fort! give him a pat on his back for that and kick him in the a***foer calling this sad candy ok to buy. this unit is for chicks only. hope it vibrates like hell !! :)
guys this phone is not as bad as u ppl r saying s40 6th version is gud and it has allthe features u wuld xpect from a modern phone besides it gives 8800 a run for its money when it comes to looks this phone has awesome build quality, just hold it once in ur hand....and look at dat metallic finish mate...awesome. and if u ppl r talking abt feature then u can buy a Chinese phone for lot less and with similar features as of n79 or even n97...lolzzz
I would definitely recommend buying the N79 over the 6700 Classic, but only if you want a smartphone or a phone with Wi-Fi or a 3.5mm headphone jack. But if you don't want these features then I would recommend the 6700 Classic. Most people think it is just another S40 phone and not worth their attention but if you were to spend a couple of weeks with the phone like me you'll definitely like the phone a lot, especially for its design and the way the phone feels in your hand. The camera performance is superb as well. Heck it even beat the C903 when it came to image quality!
good review...but an s40 phone a no no for me! i would rather buy N79 for roughly the same money...5800 also at the current price point makes terrific sense.
nonsense review ....think u guys have got some money to promote the piece of crap from Nokia people and showing highley recomendable ......!!!!!! its bakvas phone and review ...
As per the price tag is concerned, how can U highly recommend this phone, all I can say is bullshit. Check 5530,6600i,5330 etc which all comes under 14k and a lot of rich feachers too, pleas at least have some go through the relevant sites before any previewe.
None of the phone's have the premium look and feel of the 6700 Classic. And it isn't just a good looking phone as well and offers really good performance, especially in the camera department, once again not seen in the phones you mentioned. 6600i Slide isn't even available in India! As you can see just having features doesn't matter. It's the final performance that does.
