Images of what is said to be the 2220 Slide from Nokia have made their appearance at few websites on the interweb. The images, which look authentic, are of the entry-level device from Nokia made to appease its large consumer base in emerging markets.

While almost everyone is talking about Nokia's high-end devices like the N900 and the N97, it is interesting to note that the company is equally focused on it entry level to mid range segment devices. In fact, this segment is from where Nokia grabs most of its market share.

The 2220 slider, by the looks of it, will come in various color options and will sport dual band GSM connectivity. The screen is a very basic 128 x 160 TFT display. Surprisingly, the phone features a 3.5 mm jack that should enhance your music experience with you now having the option to switch to better headphones. The device has 10MB of internal memory and we guess it is expandable as well. There is a rudimentary VGA camera that will not even suffice for "casual" pictures.

Expected to be priced at around the $126 (Rs. 6,100 approx.) mark, we still have no idea as to when the 2220 will make its grand entry.

Horrible phone !! Nokia seems to be losing it big time. It's fair to say that the current low and mid range offering from Nokia is below average. Their only rival is Samsung, who just continue to get better and better.
