Small form factor, built-in USB connection, easy UI navigation, voice recorder, good audio quality, good battery life, inexpensive
No built-in clip to attach to clothes, no AAC format support, UI can be a bit sluggish, bass mode reduces battery life significantly, slow data transfer speeds
I can't use my mp3 on my laptop. It was OK previously. Did I press the wrong instructions? How do I get it to read on my laptop again. It works OK with other computers.
Dear Sir, i want to buy a mp3 player within 4k. My main criteria is excellent sound quality. After a lot of surfing n reading ur reviews i'm stuck between sony nwz-b143f and philips go gear vibe. Please tell me which one should i go with. Which one is the best in terms of sound quality n clarity .I want the best between dis two. I dont care abt video and display and anything, i just want excellent sound quality. I wud be using it with creative ep-630.
thanks to all who wrote reviews of this device, I bought it 2 weeks back. Really cool mp3 player in terms of userinterface and all other features. I feft like sony reinveted their walkman finally. I don't see at song Id tags or the device, device buffttons are good to identify different features without looking at it and zap in/out is good enough to qucikly find my favorite song. It may not be silver bullte for every body.. I will write detailed reviews when ever find time about each feature.

hey all. please help me out.
i have this device, it's really nice. but i have some prob with it now, please tell me how to remove this prob
the prob is that at the time when we remove it from the pc an icon appears over which we click for "safely remove hardware"; the icon wasn't visible to me so i just removed it from the cpu directly and now, the sound has become poor. only some treble can be heard and the background wordings. rest nothing.
please help me out guys.. plss!!
Hey Shruti.. sorry you got into this prob. Now am more careful. I see there is message poping up not to unplug when the music is syncing. Othere than that case am plugging it where ever i see a usb prort and plugging out with out even looking at it, for battery charging purpose. Why don't you visit croma store.. looks like they have very good relation with sony, if it is in one year warrenty they might help you. ..take care.

hey all , i read all the reviews , and im still confused..i am not able to make up my mind between sony nwz-b143f and philips go gear 1928/97, though i want a 4gb mp3 player...wid good sound quality and good fm reception. Kindly suggest which one would be better considering all the features and specifications...thanks..plz pour in all the advice u cn give..as i m really luking forward to buy it. one more thing i would like to have in my player is a clip to attach it to my clothes...so which one wud be a better buy from the 2 players.
FM Radio : When I decided to bough it, I wasn't convienced that am going to get good fm raido with it. But when I opened the pack at home, the fm radio is so good that the quality with BASS is 99.99% close to my mp3 tracks. Tunning radio can also be done blind folded.
Bought this one (2gig red) for Rs 2890.(from croma)
Awesome player.
Price a bit high.. but as soon as you play your songs with bass mode enabled , its like every penny well spent.
The sound quality is Way better than ipod shuffle or any of the phones under Rs 10k range ( yes even the walkman series of SE).
ZAP functionality helps.
Earphones are not comfortable / or my ears are too sensitive.
The player kind of doesnt play songs with sample rate of 44.1 kHz. I dont know if something wrong with my player or its quite common. This even happened on my previous transcend mp3 player.
The USB cover is pretty tight to the player , there isnt any kind of locking mechanism though, its just roughed surface to slide it in and to keep it in place.
It would be really nice if sony does something like sliding USB thats on some of the sandisk's cruzer pendrives.
My ubuntu 8.04 OS detected the player as "walkman" immediately and easy drag and drop fast transfers were possible contradictory to that mentioned here in the review.
Havent tried it on windows yet.
I just tried one radio station, sounded good.. the reception was okayish. Recorded voice quality is clear.
I bought this player to listen to music so these two features arent even necessary to me.. so them being not upto the mark doesnt really matter to me.
If you wanna mp3 player with a great sound quality and like listening to the lows... get this one.
If you want radio and stuff go get something else.
Also if after getting this player.. If someone asks you " is this a mp3 player you are listening to?"
Proudly nod a NO and say " Its a walkman" ;)
well i bought this player a week back & it's pretty great, but the problem is when i connect it to my pc it detects it and asks whether i want to transfer music using windows media player or the real player, but it doesn't show the player in "my computer"like a pen drive......
plz help!!!!! i really want to use the drag and drop functionality....
hello naik, well its nice player.. but just a question to ask..., can it also be used as data transfer drive ?? (like normal pen drives players) and can it also be used in our usb- enabled home music systems & car music systems ??
The Player supports only Media Transfer Protocol and not USB mass storage so although it can be used to transfer files, it cannot be used with other devices such as the ones you mentioned.
