The much awaited MMS service for iPhone 3G and 3GS owners will arrive soon
Although the iPhone OS 3.0 software update and SDK brought much awaited MMS feature to iPhone, AT&T wasn t supporting it. But now, AT&T has announced that it will offer MMS support to its iPhone bearing customers starting Sept. 25. Well, AT&T has been working to test and prepare its systems to support MMS for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS customers since quite sometime.
This brings a moment of relief for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS customers on AT&T that they ll finally get to user MMS capabilities of iPhone 3G and 3GS devices. For holding MMS support on cellular network, AT&T states, The unique capabilities and high usage of the iPhone s multimedia capabilities required us to work on our network MMS architecture to carry the expected record volumes of MMS traffic and ensure an excellent experience from Day One.
However, the support for tethering iPhone to use as modem with PC or Mac is still due from AT&T. Are the iPhone 3G and 3GS owners happy with this news? Well, we just did a random Twitter Search since AT&T was trending, and you can check the results for yourself at the AT&T search string.
We wonder when Indian cellular operators will start offering MMS support for iPhone 3G owners.
