Samsung is readying ultra-portable laptops based on Intel s consumer ultra-low voltage processors to join the league of CULV laptops from Acer and Dell. Dutch site Notebookspot managed to get details on Samsung s upcoming X120 and X420 ultraportable laptops. Last week, details about 15.6-inch ultra-thin Samsung X520 notebook had leaked out.
Samsung s new ultra-thin 11.6-inch X120 laptop will have 1.2GHz Intel Celeron 723 processor, Intel IGP X4500M graphics, 2GB DDR3 memory, 250GB HDD, and will run Windows Vista Home Premium. This notebook won t have an optical-drive.
The 14-inch X420 ultra-thin notebook has 1.3GHz Intel Pentium SU2700 with 3GB DDR3 memory and 250GB HDD for storage. This notebook is said to have 5900mAh battery offering a battery life of 9 hours and thus will directly compete with notebooks from Acer and Asus.
The Samsung X520, elder brother of X420, comes with 15.6 inch screen, scratch resistant body with Samsung Duracase, and again will use 1.3GHz Intel SU2700 processor just like X420 laptop. Samsung will equip X520 with 4GB DDR3 RAM and 320GB HDD for storage. This 15.6-inch ultra-thin notebook will have Windows Vista Home Premium preloaded.
