The game's got all that an action title should have
Uncharted 2 will blow you away! This is one game that combines the best of both worlds; great gameplay and jaw dropping visuals. I spent only 20 minutes with the game, and let me tell you Uncharted 2 far exceeded my expectations. I was impressed with the trailers and the multiplayer beta but the single player is a whole new story.
One of the main reasons why the original Uncharted was a big hit was the engaging story and characters. Uncharted 2 takes the same success formula and adds more characters and witty one-liners. The result is a game that resembles a summer blockbuster with a cute chick, scarred evil bad guy and the handsome/daredevil action hero. To prove my point, here's a trailer of the game.
I got my hands on a single level of Uncharted 2; it started off with a superb semi-scripted sequence of run and gun. I was running away from a truck hell-bent on running over me. It's an easy sequence but plays out really well. After blowing up the truck, it was time for me to get my basic combat lessons. I have played the original more than a few times, so getting used to the controls was no biggie. This time around there was some extra and smoother animations while taking cover and jumping over obstacles, these are small changes but "Uncharted" veterans will spot them easily. Overall the animation work is pretty impressive, especially in the cutscenes.
