Gigabyte has been one of the most popular motherboard manufacturers since the past few years and is currently one of the top three manufacturers worldwide (according to volumes). The last Intel X58-based motherboard we reviewed was the ECS X58B-A2 Black Series. We have yet another X58-based motherboard, but this time it is a Gigabyte 2-Ounce Copper PCB version, which is said to be even more energy efficient than the previous version (1-Ounce Copper PCB). Just like the one before, this one has got power-saving DES Advanced feature. We will try to find out how this motherboard performs and whether the newer power-saving features are really as good as Gigabyte touts them to be.
The Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P comes packed in a nice-looking box with all the major features advertised on it.
Err Next Check out Asrock X58 Extreme (not the super hyper version) and do a review on it ; ) That board too is quite good maybe not that overhyped as its predecessors but considering the price and features I think as of now its quite a good option for anyone wanting to test out the i7 processor's capabilities. Both mid end and enthusiast sections would love the board I am sure, maybe just a bit skeptical since not that hyped something like how HP Compaq and Dell laptops are so overhyped and priced, but U get an Acer laptop and be surprised that it remains so cool despite its high configuration and low price whereas its predecessors are sometimes like toasters which are gonna cook ur sausage and eggs when on ur lap... (ladies excused) But seriously Motherboards really have to be carefully studied on best features to price and performance and I guess the underdog Asrock X58 extreme is quite like a winner. P.S. Me no advertiser for none in case u snappy turtles wanna get ur jaws busy with raised eyebrows...
