James Cameron is a genius, he is a man with more than a few staggering credits to his name. James along with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg is one of the pioneers of Special Effects in movies. Most of his films boast of great special effects along with a strong story, which is why he is one of the most successful filmmakers of all time. Now when he took a hiatus from film making, the world was buzzing with speculation on his next masterpiece, 12 years later, Boom! Avatar.

1) Avatar is a Sci-Fi epic filmed in stereoscopic 3D or as I like to call it, the kicka$$ version of 3D

2) James Cameron started working on the script in the 90's but couldn t film the movie, as technology was not up to the mark.

3) The original script was leaked online a few years back, after announcing the movie, James Cameron made sure no site hosted  the leaked version.

4) This is the 4th most expensive film ever made with a budget of $237 million, the most expensive being Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End which was made for $300 Million.

5) The movie is a blend of CGI and real-time action, to be more accurate 60% is CGI.

Our hero is Jake Sully aka Sam Worthington last seen stealing the show from John Conor in Terminator 4. Jake is a marine who is left paralyzed and bound to a wheelchair. He gets a chance to walk and take part in combat again, but this time in a different body. Enter the Na'vi, a humanoid race settled on Pandora (a distant moon). The Na'vi are not aliens, but an evolutionary form of humans standing 10 feet tall with a bright blue skin tone. The Na'vi are primitive in their ways, they hunt with bows, they don't rely on technology and have more than a few rituals. The humans create the Avatar program, wherein a human can control the body of a Na'vi warrior and live like one Na'vi on Pandora. The movie is about Jake s journey, his adventure as a Na'vi warrior and much more, but I wont be talking about that now. Before I go on, please watch the trailer below:
