Sony has announced new S series and E series Walkman MP3 players. The new Walkman S series packs stereo speakers, and sports a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD display supporting 30fps video playback. The E series Walkman players are the entry level portable music players with smaller 2-inch display. Sony will ship both new series of Walkman music players in U.S. next month.
The Walkman S series 8GB and 16GB models are priced at $110 (Rs. 5,300 approx.) and $130 (Rs. 6,240 approx.) respectively. On the other hand, the entry-level Walkman E series 8GB and 16GB models cost $80 (Rs. 3,840 approx.) and $100 (Rs. 4,800 approx.) respectively.
Slim and compact Walkman S series players offer music playback of 42 hours and 6.5 hours of video, which happens to be more than that of iPod Touch. Featuring FM radio and voice recorder, the music player can also be used to record programs from the radio. Sony offers S series in 8GB and 16GB internal storage options. While the Walkman E series music players have 2-inch display, smaller battery, and let music play for 30 hours while video can be played for 4 hours.
Both Walkman series of music players incorporate the Clear Audio technology for superior sound and allow content transfer through iTunes 8.1 software. Both models support JPEG photo format.
Sony will offer Walkman S series music players in black, red, violet and pink colors while E series would come in red and black colors.
the prices seem to be totally off...16gb for 5k?!that is the price for 4 gb ipod shuffle!at this price it will kill sony's other products..please check the prices but the product looks gr8!
