Microsoft and Lionhead Studios announced Fable III for Xbox 360 only at the ongoing GamesCon 2009, in Cologne, Germany. Peter Molyneux, creative director of Lionhead Studios, confirmed that his beloved Fable series' next game, Fable III, is under development and is expected to be released in 2010 holiday season. The story of Fable III is set five decades after events of Fable II.
Fable III is the third installment of the highly acclaimed and popular Fable game series. This game is set in Napoleonic-style Albion period and allows player to rule Albion like a king. The player becomes a king or queen after stepping into role of hero's child from Fable II. Molyneux said that you'll be a hero ruler, and still an adventurer. Game draws inspirations from historys most fascinating leaders like Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan and Che Guevara.
In the game, the player has to make difficult decisions and judgments considering the tougher moral choices which will decide destiny of the player and also the Albion land. The consequences of the decisions made would be deeper and more interactive elements will come across the player as the game advances. Some characters from Fable II will return in Fable III. Molyneux promised that the game won't be a Real-time Strategy and denied any conjunction with Project Natal.
