Purported Next iPod Touch Photos Surface

Apple has been in rumors mostly because of its Tablet speculations but no one missed out the possibility of next third generation iPod Touch with camera this September. Photos of purported new iPod Touch with camera on the back panel showed up at The Covino & Rich Show over the weekend. The images and video of the third generation iPod Touch look legit though it carries scratches at the back panel.
The photos closely match with the images of the iPod Touch accessories that were spotted on the web in July. And obviously, the iPhone OS 3.1 SDK beta showed details about iPod3,1 which is the third generation iPod Touch.
The Covino & Rich Show's loyal listener who claimed to work with Apple stated that he acquired the iPod Touch with camera from the person who sells phone and iPod parts. It's obvious to think that the images are fake but the listener pointed out that the device carries 'Apple 2009' date on it while second generation iPod Touch carry 'Apple 2008' date on them. The camera is placed in the center of iPod Touch's back panel unlike that on iPhone.
This device was probably 'durability test' drop out and also didn't bear any citations of being iPod or storage or model number on its steel back panel. Wasn't iPod Nano with camera speculated to carry a camera too? It's likely that someone or the other might leak out grainy pics of iPod Nano with camera.
Known for being secretive, Apple now would be wondering how to deal with upcoming prototype devices for testing purpose. The photos look fairly real and it is quite possible that they are of the next iPod Touch. All eyes would certainly be looking at Apple in the month of September.
