Being developed by the makers of the Grand Theft Auto
Rockstar Games, usually a notorious and controversial name in gaming, said it will launch a new music game - Beaterator, in collaboration with music producer Timbaland. Initially, Beaterator was merely a flash application on Rockstar website when the game was announced in 2005. Rockstar will release Beaterator for PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Network this Sept. 29 in U.S. and Oct. 2 in Europe.
Hopefully, the game will reach Indian shores in a month or two after that since Sony already has been promoting music based games like SingStar series.
Beaterator is being developed by Rockstar Leeds, the game dev team behind porting and developing Grand Theft Auto game to PSP and DS. This music game for PSP will feature original music, and sound kit including thousands audio loops and sounds produced by Rockstar. These sound loops will also exclusively include loops and samples produced by R&B producer-performer Timbaland.
Sony will be releasing the game on UMD for PSP owners and also on PlayStation Network, considering the PSPgo is expected to be made available from Oct. 1.
