Batman is a big brand these days, and we owe it all to Christopher Nolan (the real star) for bringing Batman to a much bigger/mainstream audience. The success of the movie was quickly followed by the announcement of a new game called Batman Arkam Asylum, based on an alternate story-line. This game features Batman's arch nemesis "The Joker" as well as other infamous characters like Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.
The game, according to me, is the first ever serious attempt to make a Batman game. Previous games by reputed publishers have always disappointed the masses, but if this game's demo is anything to go by then we finally have a good tale to tell. The demo starts inside Arkham Asylum, where Joker is in control. For reasons unknown, Joker has full access to the Asylum and his henchmen are roaming about, constantly scanning the joint for the caped crusader. You start off with basic combat, light attack, heavy attack, counter attack and takedown. Batman is often surrounded by more than a few enemies, so you will need use a combination of the different attacks to defeat your enemies. A combination of light and heavy attack is enough to floor an enemy and you can then finish him off with a take-down move. The combat also heavily relies on counter moves, triggered by pressing the triangle key (PS3) at the right moment. A good counter move is presented with a closer shot of Batman, punching the lights out of Joker's goons.
