In the midst of the BlackBerrys, Androids and the Symbians we're sure most people have forgotten about the LiMo foundation.
Those who are still wearing the perplexed look let us remind you that LiMo is yet another smartphone platform promoted by the major corporations like NEC, NTT DOCOMO, Orange, Panasonic, Samsung and Vodafone.
The aim is to develop the next generation Linux based mobile operating system for future mobile phones. The LiMo foundation yesterday announced the entry of two more members into their fold. The latest entrants include Japanese mobile network operator KDDI and Immersion Corporation, which makes touchscreen technology. KDDI joins rival Japanese operators NTT DoCoMo and Softback who are already members of the LiMo foundation.
