If you are one of those heavy multimedia users cum phone buffs who cannot live without your phone for one moment, you might also fall into the elite club of users who always crib about the pathetic battery life the gadgets of today offer. Worry not! Help has arrived!
No, we are not talking about batteries that last a month- those would take some time to arrive. Meanwhile, why not fix the other end of the problem? Chargers. If you are traveling and do not have access to a charging point, there is little you can do to charge your phone - until now. Say hello to Powcell, a light powered mobile phone charger. Powcell is made by MotionTouch, a UK based design and manufacturing firm.
The charging mechanism itself is cool. All you need to do is to slide your phone into the "holder" shaped charger and wait for it to charge. PowCell uses solar cells for generating power and hence, is completely environment friendly. Currently, the sleeve has been designed for the Apple iPhone and selected BlackBerry devices. Another interesting part of PowCell is that it comes with its own battery that charges itself up when not in use and in case your phone goes dead in the midst of a call, you don't actually need to wait for it to recharge. All you need to do is to slide the phone in and you have a fully charged battery. The phone will also be charged simultaneously whilst drawing power from the external battery.
MotionTouch expects to increase the list of supported handsets. However, if you are a BlackBerry or an iPhone user, you can get hold of one soon!
