We have been hearing about this one for quite a while now. After what seems to be an eternal wait, RIM has finally decided to take the covers off the BlackBerry 8250 Curve -albeit online, where it now gets its own landing page.

The device, about which we have been haring rumors for quite a while, has also been seen in the wild a few months ago. Back then, we had mentioned that this one (then known as the Gemini) would be "Curve" branded and would most definitely be sporting a 2 MP camera. As it turns out, the Curve 8520 comes with a run-of-the mill 2 MP camera and as evident, is Curve branded. Apart from these, the phone comes with WiFi, video recording, and a largish 1,150mAh battery rated for 4.5 hours of talk time.

The display is a 2.6-inch QVGA affair is scaled down from that of the Curve 8900. There is no 3G and you will be limited to WiFi and EDGE for Internet on the move. Oh and this one also comes with the trackpad instead of the standard BlackBerry trackball. The device is claimed to be Mac Ready. This is obviously owing to the recent announcement by BlackBerry to bring the BlackBerry Desktop software support to Macs. Expect the 8520 to hit the North American landmass in about a month. We have no inkling about an India specific launch. On a side note, this one would make a nice poor mans BlackBerry should they price it sensibly here in India.
