President Pratibha Patil launched a helpline portal - help-line.rb.nic.in - that will allow people to petition the president directly.
Apart from registering their grievances online, citizens will also be able to track them to various ministries as well.
According to Christy Fernandez, secretary to the president, Rashtrapati Bhavan receives an average 400 petitions per day from people. "We have set up this portal so that people have a mechanism by which they know what is happening to their petition." This portal is the beginning of a new chapter in Rashtrapati Bhavan, she said.
The portal promises to process petitions and direct them to relevant departments within seven working days.

respected madam,
I am a student of engineering college , "ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY", situated in chidambaram( district- cuddalore), TAMIL NADU.
On 28th feb night an incident occured which killed around 7 students.
There, the north-south discrimination is there. the localites(students , police,as well as the authorities) treat the north indians severely
so kindly please look into this matter and provide safety to the students.
Great. Indian website links never work :)
I guess, our dear President should take on initiative on the recent Patna molestation incident instead of creating help centers online.
