Developers can now specify different languages for their Facebook Connect integration
Facebook's multi-lingual (64 languages and locales) availability is what makes it so popular. In May, Facebook added support for six Indian languages. Now, Facebook Connect, its universal login effort, has got a multi-lingual support. At the Facebook Developer Blog, Facebook boasts on implementation of Facebook Connect to about 15,000 websites, devices and applications worldwide.
Facebook Connect is a universal login interface wherein users can sign in, publish content which will be integrated to with Facebook, and distributed to other networks including Facebook itself. All Facebook developers who've implemented Facebook Connect can now get to choose the languages in which Facebook Connect's features get rendered. Users connecting or publishing content through Facebook Connect will appear in the language specified by the developer. This way, the user generated content will be presented in more languages and will be accessible to larger masses.
Facebook already offers international translation of Facebook in several languages.
