Mozilla has released Firefox 3.0.12 update for the browser's 3.0 version users. This fresh update patches five critical security vulnerability holes in the browser. While Mozilla team is busy pushing and working hard on the Firefox 3.5 version, the vulnerabilities as discovered in the Firefox 3.0.x (here, x stands for any version number) are taken care of as well. Firefox 3.0.12 is available for free download from Firefox.com site for Windows, Mac and Linux users.

Mozilla Developer blog announced the release of Firefox 3.0.12 that promises to be a secure and stable update to the existing version (Firefox 3.0.11). As per the Firefox 3.0.12 release notes, security issues and stability issues have been fixed along with few other ones.

Mozilla Security Advisory site states that five critical vulnerabilities will be fixed with the Firefox 3.0.12 update.

If you're Firefox 3.0, go to Help menu and select "Check for Updates" to download this latest update.

Mozilla stated that - Firefox 3.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until January 2010.
