Buying a LCD TV or a Plasma is never an easy choice. It maybe for a layman, who just goes to a showroom unprepared, checks out a couple of screens and then picks one without giving it a second thought. But to us geeks, who wish to get every money's worth, will inspect every nook and cranny of the TV right from its specifications, features, design and of course performance before we take a pick. We love to be in control and know exactly what we are getting; I guess it just comes with the package.

But not everyone possesses this knowledge and while some prefer to take the opinion of everybody they know, even if it is their aging grandparents, while some prefer to remain ignorant. For those who don't want to fall prey to all the HDTV hype we've put together a small list of common misconceptions or myths regarding flat panel displays, which include both LCDs and Plasmas. We will help clear doubts that I'm sure are plaguing everybody's minds, so lets get started.

nice article roydon, you forgot to mention about power consumptions of CCFL-LCD, LED-LCD and Plazma, and viewing angles respectively, and their lifespan. well other aspects were very clear.

Yes viewing angle is an important miss. most of the time I am watching movies lying down (I know it is a bad habit), so this is very much crucial to me.
