Build & Design

The mobiBLU A7 has simple looks. The design, as I earlier mentioned, is like that of the choco cream biscuit Bourbon; small and slim, rectangular in shape. The face of the player has a nice gloss finish, while the rest of the body has a sliver matte finish. On one end of the player, where the ports and the lanyard loop hole are placed, has a chrome finish. This makes it look like it's stronger at this end to hold a dangling player while just sitting or even jogging.

The player has a 1.1-inch OLED display along the length of the player with buttons towards the right. These control buttons comprise of Play/Pause, Menu, Volume Control, and Next/Prev Track navigation. The buttons are very tacky and though they don't seem of poor quality they are pretty noisy.

To the left side of the player there is an ON/OFF switch and a MIC. The ON/OFF switch acts more like a hold/keypad lock switch because even after turning the switch ON you need to hold down the Play/Pause button to start the player.

To the right of the player we have a mini USB port and a 3.5mm jack with the lanyard loop hole in the center. This is the side of the player with the chrome finish.

The A7 overall is decently built but it should have been a little better. The control buttons especially could have easily been better.

What do you recommend for a person who is looking for a much-better-and-more-expensive-player (DAP)? How about the Philips GoGear SA2940?

Go for Sony, although a little expensive they are the best when it comes to sound engineering. Also Croma is offering a free seinheiser!!! headphone if you buy anything above 4GB capacity its the best you can ask for
