PSPgo's FCC filings confuse users' between USB clock speed power and CPU power
Sony teased the world with a new handheld PlayStation brand console - PSPgo. A few month's old FCC filing was picked up on the web with details about the PSPgo (PSP-N1001) having CPU clock speed prowess of 480MHz.
Engadget Japan had managed to get their hands on some documents that mentioned about the clock speed hitting 480MHz at the PSPgo engineering unit. Many confused this figure with the PSPgo CPU speed and started rumoring about the raw CPU power of the handheld.
While everyone is still wondering whether PSPgo owners could unlock CPU speed of 480MHz, Sony Computers Entertainment told Engadget Japan that maximum clock frequency mentioned in the USB filing is for the USB device and not the CPU.
Sony will make PSPgo available from Oct 1 and there's hope that the gaming console will be faster as promised. While all eagerly await the console, hackers would be looking forward to find exploit for installing hacked (custom) firmware for unlocking maximum CPU power.
