Samsung Mobile has announced the launch of its latest "outdoor" mobile phone in India - the Samsung Marine B2100. As evident by its name, the phone is a rough and tough device designed to withstand rough handling and even possesses decent water resistant capabilities. Samsung also claims the phone to be the first of kind in India, thereby virtually creating an entirely new segment in the highly competitive mobile phones market.

The B2100 is encased in an anti-shock urethane material, which enables it to withstand bumps, bangs, scrapes and even dust and water. The phone also features IP57 certification and is resistant to water up to one meter deep for a 30 minute span. It is also capable of withstanding heavy rain, fog, humidity, sand and extremely hot and cold temperatures, etc. It is tested under specifications defined by the U.S. Department of Defense.

On the features front, this one sports loud external speakers, noise cancellation and a flash light. The phone also has a basic 1.3 megapixel camera, camcorder, FM radio, a music player and expandable memory (up to 8GB). Bluetooth and USB support too find their way in. It is available in two color options red and green colors and is priced at Rs 7,030. Techtree had, back in June, first reported that this phone is coming to India at around the same price as mentioned above!

aha...tough mobile..for india's climate..samsung thanks...i searched all over online shoping web...i find it...its cost around 4500...check on online shoping web like flipkart...but alas there out of stock!...better do is wait wait...i cant wait so i decided to contact my frnd who runs a mobile shop...price may be little high but i want it.....

hi.. can anyone please let me know where i can buy the samsung marine. i have not been able to procure the phone anywhere in Chennai. is it available in Bombay, Calcutta or Delhi? can anyone help me out with dealers who still sell the phone? they say its taken out of the market. what a rough phone!!! its like a dream comes true for those extreme people...waterproof,shockproof,dustproof... it has everything that is dreamnt by either sportman and even housewive...well done samsung b2100!!! keep on with tha good work!!

i think is very good phone in present condition which is can be used in rainy season because more persons face so many problems to save their phones from rain and water
