    Tata's new GSM Service offer

Tata DoCoMo, the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices, has announced the commercial launch of its operations in India, beginning with Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

The national roll-out beginning with Chennai and Tamil Nadu, starting today, Tata DoCoMo subscribers will be able to call anywhere in India for 1 paisa per second.

The complete southern India roll-out will be completed within a fortnight, while Country-wide service rollout to be completed this year itself, says the company.

"From Day One of our launch, we will work on a per-second pricing model for almost everything, be it voice calls, VAS services, IVR interactions. Above all, we promise to always listen to our subscribers," said Deepak Gulati, president, Tata DoCoMo.

Earlier this month, Tata Teleservices announced its offering GSM services in across India. To offer the services, Tata Teleservices has collaborated with Japan's NTT DoCoMo; the service has been branded as 'Tata DoCoMo'.

Few updates on TATA DOCOMO.. Looks like it is launched in TN, Orrisa & Kerala, AP & Karnataka in queue. STD @ 1p is just a limited time offer (nothing mentioned about how much limited is that time :) )

Few updates on TATA DOCOMO.. Looks like it is launched in TN, Orrisa & Kerala, AP & Karnataka in queue. STD @ 1p is just a limited time offer (nothing mentioned about how much limited is that time :) ) Initial pack cost Rs49 with lifetime validity (Nov/2014) & Rs5 talktime. Local calls @1p/s & STD @ 2p/s SMS 60p local & Rs1.2 STD (under default plan). Also, postpaid services are due for launch from 1st July. Source for all info above is www.tatadocomo.com

@DeepFreezer Come out of the freezer man... yeah it is 60p/min but tell me which operator gives 60p/min for STD calls under default plan rate, do you know any?? That too with an added advantage of 1 sec pulse!! The offer is too good to be true & if their network & other services remain upto the mark... God save other operators once number portability comes in practice!

omg....the reason for 1 p/sec is that if U TALK FOR 20 SEC U DONT GET CHARGED FOR ONE MINUTE.....really good deal...thank god someone brought it up...tata has alredy implemented this in its cdma service....finally it comes to gsm

@Pankaj, Dont forget, its 1PS, per minute. ANYWHERE in INDIA!!! That could mean Tremendous savings for heavy STD Users and even Local users of some VSP's.
