The Samsung Star reminded me of the TouchWIZ, the phone that showcased the TouchWIZ interface that Samsung developed for their touch phones. While the TouchWIZ F480 had a metal body the Star has a plastic build and hence is lighter.
The face of the phone has a nice three-inch large screen featuring a WQVGA resolution. This is a much better screen than the one on the Star 3G, which is small and sports only a QVGA resolution. Above the screen is the earpiece of the handset. Under the screen there are three hard buttons; a back button and the two call buttons. The face of the phone has a glossy plastic ring around it which has an iodized finish. The sunlight legibility of the screen with the brightness set to max was just about readable even with direct sunlight hitting the screen.
To the left of the phone there is a volume control and the multi-purpose port (USB, Headset & Charging).
