BenQ has announced new ultra-portable Joybook Lite T131 Netbook, weighing less than 2 kilograms. It is yet another ultra-portable netbook which has nothing new.

Joybook Lite T131 would be available in the Chinese market this month onwards. We aren't sure whether it will be available in the Indian market and what the price would be.

BenQ's new ultra-portable Joybook Lite T131 features 13.3-inch WXGA TFT-LCD display supporting 1280x800 pixel resolution and response time of 16 milliseconds. Joybook Lite T131 packs Yukon architecture based AMD Sempron 200U paired with AMD M690E chipset that has SB600 southbridge. This netbook offers 1GB DDRII-400 RAM and supports up to 2GB DDRII memory maximum.

Joybook Lite packs ATI Mobility Radeon X1270 graphics that supports HD video playback. This netbook sports Windows Vista Home Basic/Business. Linux OS option is also listed but no specific Linux Distribution is mentioned. Storage of up to 320GB SATA 5400RPM can be added.

Other standard netbook features include 1.3 megapixel webcam with mic, built-in SD/MMC card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, ExpressCard Slot and Ethernet port. The Joybook netbook supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n standards for wider wireless area coverage. Six-cell lithium-ion battery promises three hours of battery life.

There are too many laptops launched abroad that do not see the light of the day in India (like this joybook ). Makes no sense to mention, on this site, just this one when so many more interesting laptops exist. I wonder what was the motivation.

Why u call this a netbook? just because it does not has a optical drive? It is not based on any netbook platform...
