LG Electronics has added a new smartphone, LG-GM730, to its line up and it is the company's first smartphone to offer the new version of Windows Mobile 6.1 integrated with LG's 3D S-Class user interface. The company claims that the phone's interface is so simple and intuitive that users will not have to waste much time on the manual. The phone was announced on the first day at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) being held at Singapore from June 16-19. The fully touch-operated GM730 is powered by Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor.
The key features of this smartphone include a 3-inch WQVGA screen, A-GPS, and a 5 megapixel camera. There's also USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Internet connectivity options on this phone include HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and GPRS. The phone comes with a standard Li-Ion 1000 mAh battery. LG is promoting 'fast' multitasking with the GM730. Users will be able to run several apps without having to shut down another. Features include easy cut-copy-paste from one app to another, push email, syncing of folders from PC, etc. The LG-GM730 touchscreen phone will hit the Asian markets in July 2009. It will be available in three colors: black, lime and pale pink.
