Sony BRAVIA 40-inch LED TV: Go Wireless!

Roydon Cerejo, Jun 16, 2009 1725 hrs IST

The KLV-40ZX1 produces good color and deep blacks

Wireless connectivity, ultra slim design, very good color reproduction, IR Blaster support, best noise reduction filter, good sound

Expensive, picture distorts intermittently in videos and images, USB only supports photos

Design and Construction

The design is simply breathtaking! I mean I liked the Samsung LED TV without being shiny and flashy, but the Sony somehow manages to grab your attention with its unconventional looks.

The screen of the BRAVIA has a matt finish with the bezel having a brushed metal finish.

This is a much better angle where you can see the slimness of the TV. The ZX1 measures just 9.9mm making it the slimmest LCD TV in the world.

The speakers are integrated into the stand, which include two 5W speakers and a 10W subwoofer. Going by the design of the base, the omni-direction speakers gives you a fuller sound for everyone in the room and not just the one sitting in front of the television.

The chrome strip on the back hides the power cord as well as a single HDMI cable. This is the only physical connection to the TV, the rest are all wireless. The stand does not support swivel function though.

The buttons are placed beneath the right hand side of the frame with clear markings on the bezel.

How is the contrast ratio and the response rate, i think this are important to know while making a purchase. No doubt sony bravi is not bad just little improvement is to be made in terms of the contrast ratio and higher refresh ratio.

What about Samsung LED TV? It is priced uch less than this minus the wireless. Consider reviewing the same!

U hv not mentioned Hz is it 60, 120 or 240 Hz. This is the latest definition in LCD/LED TV and its quite important to know about

I think it is mentioned, see MotionFlow (TM) 100 Hz in the specifications
