This is a widget to start the in-built FM Transmitter of the N97. This is just a shortcut and seems useless. It is better to have this as a shortcut in the Shortcuts I or Shortcuts II widget.
Hi5
If you are an avid user of Hi5 well you're in luck as N97 offers even a Hi5 widget. The N97 comes with a Hi5 app just like you have the Facebook app. Having the widget on the main screen means the application is always running in the background.
Music Player
The Music player widget lets you control the Music player which you have running in the background. It lets you Play/Pause go to Next or Previous track. The widget also shows the Album Art. Compared to the Music Player widget seen for TouchWIZ it misses a progress bar. Still it is a shortcut to the music player, so you really won't find it missing.
Share Online
Finally the Share Online Widget is like a shortcut to sharing your Ovi Content. The Nokia N97 has a built-in Ovi store. You have to be logged into an Ovi account to share your content. This widget takes you directly to your Ovi Sharing account. It will show you any content that it yet to be uploaded and be shared with others. You can also connect to Nokia's M-Blog and Vox through this widget.
Slideshow
The Slideshow widget is an Online widget. It sources its content from Reuters. Now you must be wondering why the name Slideshow for the widget. It is because it shows the links to the Slideshow of the Reuters site.
These widgets drastically increase the functionality of the phone. You are able to reach and do so many things by just a touch on the screen of the phone. At the moment these are a few widgets that are available. Just like there has never been shortage of applications for Series 60, similarly we will see widgets populate as well. The only source of Nokia Widgets is from the Ovi store. There are several widgets but their compatibility with the N97 is a question. Support will come with the launch of the phone and soon there will be a basketful to choose from.
