For most consumers 24-inch monitors have been an overkill. Why? Firstly they are always priced beyond 20K, when you can get a 22" monitor for 13K. Secondly, they are worth the investment only if you need a full HD resolution, and lastly, for playing any game on this native resolution you'll require an SLI or CrossFire setup for sure, which again is not very practical.
Recently we've seen manufacturers switching over to 16:9 aspect ratio, which meant a smaller and cheaper to produce LCD panel as well as a better movie watching experience due to smaller black borders. 22" monitors are most popular nowadays since they offer full HD resolution for a very attractive price. But the monitor we have for review today is not a 22-incher but instead a 24-incher with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
The VX2433WM is Viewsonic's latest entry in their 24-inch monitor line up and sports a slimmer bezel and a very attractive full gloss finish. The native resolution on this one remains 1920x1080 with a 1000:1 static contrast ratio. The response time is 2ms, so we shouldn't have any ghosting issues, and finally we have a HDMI connector along with DVI and VGA. The panel is TN based made by CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics), so the viewing angles and color depth are pretty much standard like all TN panels. The specifications look good on paper so let's see how this fares in our tests.
Bundle
Viewsonic gives you a complete bundle with the monitor which includes;
The monitor dosent have S-video or composite but wht you can do is get a SVideo or Composite to VGA cable or adapter. Like Lammington rd in mumbai , there's MG rd in banglore for comp parts (not sure if its MG rd). u'll definitley find a shop who'll make such a cable/adapter
I BOUGHT IT AT 16K A MONTH BACK . AND IT IS WONDERFUL. GREAT PRODUCT. AND 22" @10K DOES NOT HAVE HDMI.
IT WILL EVEN LESS THAN 16K TODAY. SO MOST IDEAL BUY.
i thnk Dell S2409w is best among all the available full-hd 24inchers in india....n i got the same for 17k......n full-hd resolution in 22inch make text so small....whch mke it too hard to read....full-hd is absolutely perfect in 24inch....imho
"Firstly they are always priced beyond 20K" that is utter bull, the benq 24" 16:9 widescreen monitors are less than 18000. You guys are so ridiculously ill-informed.
