    Gurgaon to Get 3G by July

After recently launching 3G in Mumbai, MTNL is set to roll out the service in Gurgaon. MTNL's low-cost 3G Jadoo prepaid services will soon connect Gurgaon - a satellite town and IT hub in the NCR -- by July, 2009. MTNL is eying a 3G consumer base of 8,00,000 and extending its services through 225 base stations. Currently, MTNL has around 500 subscribers since the launch of its service in January.



Speaking to CXOtoday, Trilochan Singh, assistant manager of MTNL said 3G services in Gurgoan are in the final planning phase. "We have covered almost all the regions in south Delhi except a few grey areas that we have identified," said Singh.




MTNL will be extending its footprint to north-west Delhi, including Karolbagh and Dwarka. The telecom operator has connected most of the south Delhi till now, as well as, the trans-Yamuna region of the national capital.



The low-cost prepaid service is available for Rs. 300, and will facilitate video calls, live TV, and high speed Internet access. In addition, a subscriber can choose any of the data coupons available to get free data downloads doubled with free video calls for customized needs.
