Well, this should come as no surprise - but since it has been now made official, we couldn't help but report it!
Since ages we've known that the N97 will be in your palms by June 2009. In fact, this was made clear the very day the phone made its first appearance sometime during the final hours of 2008. Today's press release announcing the launch, however, contained a little gem of information. Instead of a long launch process with different countries getting the phone at different times, we can expect a worldwide launch in 75 countries this very month. This also includes the usually late North American market.
While we do not have the exact list of the countries where the phone is coming, what we know is that it will come with Nokia's Ovi Store pre installed and will become the flagship N-Series device toppling the N96 from its perch. Nokia has also promised new "features and additions" for the handset by the second half of 2009. Now, that's interesting!
The retail price of the handset hovers at around the $699 mark (Rs. 33,300). An India launch too appears to be on the cards in the not too distant future.
thats the best news i have ever get.
i was onstantly looking forward for the nokia 97 launch , but was little bit worried as i thought it won't be launched in india , but reading the news that it will be launched in 75 countries in june only , i have hope that it will be launched in india too.
