Bears a 3.8-inch screen, has a 16GB internal memory, Bluetooth support
Since the past two months, there has been lot of talk and hype around the new PSP Go! A new video, which clearly confirms that the new PSP Go! will be announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, has been leaked. The video of June issue of Qore episode, PlayStation Network's interactive online magazine, shows John Koller, Director of Hardware Marketting for Sony being interviewed by host Veronica Belmont. Apparently, Sony's next PlayStation Portable console, PSP Go!, got showed off in the video.
In the last two months, rumors revolving around the new PSP Go! buzzed the web. As mentioned by an insider source, no extra analog stick will be added - this might disappoint niche audience.
So yes, Sony's next gen portable gaming console is PSP Go! that drops UMD drive and instead supports 16GB of internal flash memory. It's likely that Sony will drop even the backward compatibility of UMD-based games or might just offer those games as digital download for PSN service.
Koller further revealed PSP Go! will have a 3.8 inch screen that slides out to revel button controls and will also feature a Bluetooth support that could be tethered to cellphone.
Koller added that PSP Go! will integrate with PS3, just like PSP-3000 and will be able to carry PS3 content in its internal flash memory. So, one transfer takes all PSP screenshots, videos, trailors, etc. like how it is possible for PSP-3000. We're wondering if the Blu-Ray movies would be able to be converted to be PSP GO! friendly resolution PS3. If that works, then PSP Go! will go head to head with Apple iPhone or iPod Touch that can carry iTunes purchased or other HD videos via specific conversion option in iTunes.
For the storage frenzies, PSP Go! will allow adding memory stick (obviously has to be Memory Stick Pro Duo). However, the upper limit of memory card capacity wasn't revealed.
Of the many anticipated games for PSP Go! (now since it's revealed), Koller talked about LittleBigPlanet, Gran Tourismo and even the new Metal Gear Solid that is being teased by Konami.
Enough has been said about the PSP Go! Let's wait patiently for the Sony's E3 press conference which is scheduled to be held on June 2.
