The past weekend had to be the one of the most "happening" ones in recent times as far as the mobile phone segment is concerned. It started with the announcement of the four new Nokia phones headed for US.

It's now time to divert our attention to the RIM shores where we have confirmation of as many as four new Blackberry handsets on the anvil. We are talking about the BlackBerry Onyx, BlackBerry Magnum, BlackBerry Pearl 3G and BlackBerry Gemini. We have, in the past, reported separately on these handsets. Anyway, its time for a revision. So here we go!

BlackBerry Onyx

Let's first talk about the Onyx, which seems to be the most important handset out of all the four we're about to talk here. The Onyx is spec-ed like the Bold - but adds a 3.2 megapixel camera and a Micro USB connector for data transfer rather than the Mini USB - usually associated with BlackBerry's for ages.

BlackBerry Magnum

The BlackBerry Magnum is one interesting handset from the IM stables. Apart from sporting a standard, full QWERTY keyboard, this one will also have a touchscreen UI like the BlackBerry Storm and the upcoming Storm 2. We only have fuzzy images of this doing the rounds of the Internet.

Pearl 3G

The Pearl line-up from Blackberry has been ageing for quite some time with no updates seen over the past few years. That, however, is set to change to change with the arrival of the Perl 3G which will add contemporary features and a higher resolution display. We do not have juicier details apart from this.

BlackBerry Gemini

This one is also known as the Curve 8250 and is reportedly a "poor mans Blackberry" if you can call this one. This will come sans 3G, WI-FI and many other un-missable features - if you can live without it. There is a 2 megapixel camera without flash thrown in as well to keep that tiny shutterbug in you happy.

As of now, all these new phones are headed the AT&T way in the U.S. market. We can however expect some of these to make their Indian debuts in the near future.
