Yahoo has glued its social news site Buzz to Yahoo India homepage. India is the first lucky country to get the Buzz service outside the U.S. market. Yahoo! Buzz is Digg-like service that allows discovering, submitting, commenting on news stories and even voting for the most liked ones.

Yahoo! Buzz gets pumped with the content from 20,000 publishers worldwide. On the other hand, Yahoo! Buzz India currently features content from two dozen local publishers like The Times of India, NDTV, India Today Group, Zee, A2 Media and One India. Yahoo! Buzz can be accessed directly from http://in.buzz.yahoo.com/.

Yahoo! Terms Buzz as a "social news site" since users can submit, comment and vote on several stories. Also, web surfers get to know about variety of news. It is indeed an interesting way to put across popular and engaging news stories that are submitted by humans and not bots. At the moment, Yahoo! Buzz is available in English and Yahoo! does not have any immediate plans to launch it in local Indian languages.

Frazier Miller, head of audience at Yahoo India, said Yahoo may integrate advertisements into Buzz in order to generate revenue.

Yahoo! Buzz button would be visible on the websites of participating Indian publishers.

"India is the first lucky country to get the Buzz service outside the U.S. market." I think it is Yahoo! who is lucky to get this huge country India for its business.
